Human rights organization
Reparo Venezuela documents cases and supports and defends people deprived of their liberty and victims of persecution, within and outside Venezuela, alongside their families.
Justice beyond borders.
Who we are
Reparo Venezuela is an organization focused on justice, memory and reparation in human rights matters. We work with people deprived of their liberty, victims of persecution and injustice, and their families.
We combine rigorous documentation, sustained support and advocacy before national and international bodies. We help facilitate dialogue with families, journalists, lawyers, diplomatic missions and protection bodies.
We do this with restraint and responsibility: without sensationalism or unnecessary exposure of individuals, and with respect for their dignity and privacy.
Our mission
“Documentation is protection.”
We document, support and give a voice to those facing injustice, to establish the truth and open paths to reparation. We believe that a careful record of what happened is the first form of protection, and that memory sustains justice over time.
Areas of work
Six mutually supporting areas of work: from rigorous documentation to personal support and advocacy beyond borders.
We record facts, dates and circumstances with verification and care, so that no injustice goes undocumented.
Guidance and sustained support for those waiting for answers, with respect for their pace, their voice and their privacy.
Dialogue with organizations, diplomatic missions and protection mechanisms beyond borders.
We preserve the record of what happened as a basis for truth and reparation. Memory is also a form of justice.
Verified information without sensationalism, protecting people and respecting their dignity at all times.
Coordination with legal professionals and assistance networks for cases that require a response, always within the scope authorized by the people involved.
